Ingredients

  • 4 cups (1L) original Japanese soy milk
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • ½ cup dark chocolate (75-80%) chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat for 3-5 minutes on medium high heat until milk is warmed through, not boiling. Stirring occasionally to avoid film or scorched milk.
  1. While the milk heats, mix the cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt in a small bowl to help prevent clumping of the cocoa powder.
  1. Once the milk is warm, add the cocoa powder mixture to the milk and continue stirring occasionally for about 10 minutes until the chocolate is melted and the liquid is a deep brown color.
